Maureen Lindmeier, Psy.D., Director

Dr. Lindmeier is a licensed clinical psychologist who practices relationally focused psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families who struggle with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems. She holds Doctorate, Masters and Bachelors degrees in Psychology. She obtained both her Doctorate and Masters degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco and her Bachelors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Lindmeier completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Francisco, and she specializes in psychological issues associated with trauma and other anxiety disorders as well as the effects of stress on the parent-child relationship. Her work also focuses on helping creative and technology professionals find a healthy work/life balance.

Dr. Lindmeier is well versed in a variety of treatment approaches and has a diverse clinical background. Her theoretical frame of reference is psychodynamic; however, she uses a variety of other treatment approaches in order to meet the specific needs of her clients.

Dr. Lindmeier believes that people are complex and often unaware of the many forces that drive or limit them.  Her work goes beyond the targeting of certain symptoms and instead aims to thoughtfully and gently help people find meaning and purpose in their lives, and strengthen their relationship to themselves and other people.

Dr. Lindmeier considers therapy a mutual contract between therapist and client aimed toward the goal of alleviating the client’s suffering and helping him or her to live a more realistic and satisfying life. While she takes this work very seriously, she understands the importance of creativity and flexibility, and her warmth and sense of humor clearly permeate her therapeutic style. In addition to her clinical background, Dr. Lindmeier has experience in educational and medical consultation, social services and working with youth.
